Juvenile blue ring angel (annularis angel)

• Appearance: Dark blue to black body covered in electric blue and white circular rings and curved lines (almost maze-like). Totally different from the adult.

• Size (juvenile): Usually under 10 cm (4 in).

• Habitat: Indo-Pacific coral reefs, often hiding in caves and crevices.

• Behavior: Shy, slow-moving, and tends to stay close to shelter.

• Diet: Omnivore – sponges, algae, small invertebrates.

• Fun fact: As it matures, it completely changes color, losing the rings and becoming greenish-brown with blue lines and a yellow/orange tail.
